The “I’m Still Running Foundation”
Established in May, 2023 in memory of our daughter, Mary Catherine Cannon, who passed in late October, 2022 at 38 years young. She grew up in Montgomery County, and was a graduate of Christopher Dock HS and the University of Connecticut. She moved to Alabama to be with her running Coach and then to Youngstown, Ohio.
Mary Catherine, also known to all as “MC”, was a world class marathon runner, having run well over 200 marathons in both the US and all over the world. She was also the first woman from Alabama who completed the Big Six Abbott World Challenge in 2020 having completed all 6 Majors in 18 months in Berlin, London, Tokyo, New York, Chicago and Boston.
Her love for running was off the charts. And her love for animal rescue was even more as she was a veterinary technician rescuing animals that nobody else wanted, and cared for them religiously.
Her Mom, Mary Alice, and I then started the 501 C 3 charitable I’m Still Running Foundation several months ago. We have an event scheduled for April 3, 2024 for a 5 K run in Birmingham, Alabama.
